First Shore on an Empty Island

A boat fails, and the adults who reach the empty island discover that the world they knew cannot see them. The first night is the story: a small company must decide what survival allows, and more than a couple will have a say. Desire is easy to announce when there is no road home. It is harder to tell from fear, boredom, and the need to be chosen. / A sail on the horizon would rewrite every promise made in the dark. None of them can say yet whether they want that sail. The shore will not decide for them, and it will not stay empty of consequence.
