Seven Days to Try Love

Two adults, and perhaps one or two more, agree to test love on a clock. Seven days, then a decision. The bargain is clean, which is what makes it dangerous. A trial like that invites people to perform the feeling instead of having it, and a beautiful week is not the same thing as proof. / On the last morning someone will have to say whether the time was evidence or only a postponement. The clock does not care which answer would have needed longer. Whoever speaks first will have to live with being believed.
