Chen Pippi Holds Her Ground

Chen Pippi is the mature woman a household will not let be only a neighbor or only the live-in help. A younger man circles her, and the years between them are part of why people think she should be grateful for the attention. She refuses to disappear into the job they handed her. / The struggle is ordinary and sharp: rent, work, reputation, and a desire she did not ask the building to vote on. If she yields, the house will call it harmony. If she does not, someone will call it a problem. She seems prepared to be the problem.
