Reborn as a Palace Eunuch

He crosses into a palace and finds that the court has already decided what he is: a eunuch, filed among servants, ignored by the people who plot in full voice because they think he cannot answer desire or ambition. The joke, the reversal, and the rewritten body are the crossing itself. The court is wrong about what that means, and he does not correct them yet. / They talk in front of him. He listens, learns the factions, and looks for the rank they swore a man like him could never hold. The next secret they spill may change who is allowed to want anything in that palace.
